Extra public transport for Hurricanes’ qualifying final

Public Holidays & Events

Extra Metlink trains and larger buses will be running for the Hurricanes’ Super Rugby Pacific qualifying final against the ACT Brumbies, which kicks off at 7.05pm on Friday 5 June at Hnry Stadium.

Extra train services will run after the game on each of the Hutt Valley, Johnsonville and Kāpiti lines. Trains before the game will follow the normal weekday timetable, and fans are advised to travel early before kick-off.

The Wairarapa and Melling lines will run to their usual timetables, with no extra post-match services planned. Wairarapa passengers can catch the last service departing Wellington Railway Station at 10.25pm on Friday 5 June.

By using larger buses, some services on core bus routes will have more capacity after the match. East by West harbour ferries will run to their normal weekday timetable.

Public transport fares are not included in game tickets, and standard weekday fares apply.

In addition to Snapper cards, full-fare adult passengers can now pay using Visa and Mastercard contactless payments on Metlink buses and trains. Simply tag on and off using the same payment method on Snapper validators or platform card readers. Snapper and contactless payments offer the most affordable way to travel.

Metlink encourages supporters to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and check the latest travel information on the Metlink app or website, or by calling 0800 801 700.
